Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Bernadette of Lourdes. As a young child, Saint Bernadette received visions of the Blessed Virgin. Today pilgrims from all around the world travel to the place of the visions in Lourdes, France. She is the patron saint for people struggling with illness and those persecuted for being pious.
Today pray for all those who are afflicted in any way, and for the courage to live the faith with vigor and joy, even in the face of persecution.
